Tree-Quest 2025 – Endpoint Milestone

The second and final phase of the Tree-Quest campaign in 2025 wrapped up on December 31, 2025, and we are happy to announce the winners in this phase. Thank you to all participants for your valuable contributions to improving our understanding of biomass and carbon storage.

All submissions can be explored on the Tree-Quest Leaderboard.

Congratulations to the winners, and sincere thanks to everyone who contributed!

What’s next?

Keep exploring and submitting new Tree-Quest measurements, your contributions remain essential.

Over the coming months, we will carefully quality-check and curate all submitted measurements and prepare a dataset that will be made openly available through a public data repository.

A new campaign is planned for spring and summer, featuring some very special trees.

Tree-Quest 2025 – Mid-Campaign Update & Prize Winners!

Dear Tree-Quest Participants,

The first phase of Tree-Quest 2025 wrapped up on September 1st, and we want to thank each and every one of you for your fantastic contributions so far!

Since our launch at the ESA Living Planet Symposium in Vienna on June 23, the campaign has grown steadily. With the help of 195 participants, we’ve collected 908 tree measurements from all around the world – with the majority coming from Austria and the Alpine region.

What’s next?

The second and final phase of Tree-Quest 2025 is now underway and will run until December 31, 2025. There are more chances to win, so keep exploring, measuring, and contributing with the free Geo-Quest app!
