Official Rules
- The prizes (the “Prizes”) in the Tree Quest Carbon Campaign 2025 (the “Campaign”) are sponsored by (a) the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Schlossplatz 1, 2361 Laxenburg, Austria, (b) Tree.ly FlexCo, Littengasse 2b/c, 6850 Dornbirn, Austria, as part of the Citizens for Copernicus (C4C) project Citizens for Copernicus (C4C): Combing Copernicus and Crowdsource Data for Forest Resources Monitoring project funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) under the ASAP 2022 call, Application ID: 47907528. IIASA and Tree.ly will be referred to as sponsors (the “Sponsors”) of the Campaign.
- The prize draw will take place twice and at the end of the following two periods:
- in the middle of the campaign on September 30, 2025 – the First Period,
- at the end of the campaign on December 31. 2025– the Second Period.
- Anyone who has logged and uploaded data during the particular period is eligible to be entered into the draw at the end of the period. Participation constitutes the entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and the Sponsors’ decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Campaign. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.
- Participants will be entered into a draw for the Prizes in proportion to the amount of data logged within the particular period. This means that the more data logged, the higher the chances of being randomly selected for a prize.
- Participants are only eligible for one prize.
- Below is the list of prizes that could be won at the end of each Period:
First Price A certificate in the name of the Winner for land purchase (100 m2) for protecting the biodiversity of the COBIGA Biological Corridor in Costa Rica – more info here –
Second Price A certificate in the name of the Winner for species protection purchase for protecting the survival of the ocelot (Leopardus pardalis) in Costa Rica – more info here –
Third Price A certificate in the name of the Winner for CO2 credits purchase (3000 kg) for the regional forest climate protection of Stand Montafon forests in Austria – more info here –
Fourth Price A certificate in the name of the Winner for CO2 credits purchase (1000 kg) for the regional forest climate protection of the Stand Montafon forests in Austria – more info here –

- The sponsors and sponsors’ partners will determine the final number and actual prizes. The prizes shown may vary from those advertised. Sponsors will have sole discretion over prizes, if a prize is no longer available and a substitute will be decided and provided by the sponsor. The prizes must be accepted as awarded. No cash alternatives, substitution or transfers of the prizes will be allowed.
- Winners will be selected randomly, starting with the first prize and continuing until all prizes have been allocated.
- Winners will be notified via the email associated with their Geo-Quest account within 2 to 5 business days of their name being drawn.
- In order to be verified as the Winner, the selected entrant must respond to the prize notification email within five (5) days of transmission, confirming that he/she:
- has read, understands and complies with the Official Rules;
- releases and discharges the Sponsor;
- consents to the announcement of the Winner’s name (username or full name) on the Campaign website, without any further compensation to the Winner; and
- will complete a questionnaire about the Campaign as a condition for receipt of the prize. This also provides the Tree-Quest team with helpful feedback on the Campaign.
- Winners will be announced and published on the Campaign website once confirmation has been received from the winner within five (5) days. If notification is not received within this time period, a redraw will occur.
- Should the Winner fail to comply with any of the requirements contained in these Official Rules, the Prize will be automatically forfeited, the Winner will be redrawn and the initial Winner will be disqualified with no recourse towards the Sponsor or anyone involved in the Campaign.
- The Sponsors will not, under any circumstances, be responsible for, or liable to any entrant or any other person for:
- any erroneous lost, damaged, late, incomplete, misdirected, deleted, defective, or altered Campaign registrations, regardless of the cause, including, but not limited to, failure of the Site;
- any failure for any reason whatsoever of the selected entrant to receive a prize notification;
- any changes in email addresses after Campaign registrations are submitted; and
- any computer, online, telephone, or technical malfunctions or errors that may occur, regardless of the cause.
- If for any reason the Campaign is not capable of being conducted as intended by the Sponsorss, including due to computer viruses, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause that corrupts or interferes with the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Campaign, the Sponsor may, at its sole discretion, disqualify any entrant responsible for such misconduct and cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Campaign.
- For the symbolic prices (the fifth price) that require shipping to the Winner, the Sponsors will ship the prizes directly, and only to a postal address within the EU. The shipment outside EU is logistically demanding and thus beyond the scope and budget of the Campaign.
- The Sponsor will not be responsible for any tax or customs liability that arises in relation to the delivery of the prize.
- Decisions of the Sponsors are final and binding.
- By entering the Campaign, participants consent to the Sponsor’s collection, use, and disclosure of the personal information provided in the Campaign registration for the administration of the Campaign, including posting of the Winner’s name on the Campaign website. Entrants may write to the Sponsor and request that their information be removed from the Sponsor’s records.
